Carlos Alcaraz parents, family, girlfriend, grand slams, net worth
Carlos Alcaraz stays grounded in fame by living with his family in Spain. A look at the tennis star’s home life, values, and off-court priorities.
As Carlos Alcaraz gears up for a high-stakes Wimbledon semi-final against Taylor Fritz, the 22-year-old Spanish star remains firmly rooted in his family-first lifestyle. While the tennis world watches his every move on Centre Court, Alcaraz still chooses to return home after every tournament, win or lose — to the same house in El Palmar, Murcia, where he lives with his parents and three brothers.
Despite being one of the biggest names in global tennis, Alcaraz continues to live with his parents — Carlos Sr. and Virginia Garfia, and his three brothers, including his hitting partner Álvaro. His mother still runs the kitchen, while his father, once a national-level player himself, travels as part of his coaching team. For Alcaraz, staying grounded isn’t just a mindset — it’s his way of life.

Since bursting onto the scene with a historic US Open win in 2022, Alcaraz has gone on to claim four more Grand Slam titles and 21 singles trophies. But while he chases a third consecutive Wimbledon crown, the Spaniard insists that home life is what keeps him centred.
Even after winning Wimbledon in 2023, he preferred a quiet celebration. “Honestly, to go back home and be with my family… I miss those routines of being in my village and with my friends, not doing much, just a few laughs,” he said.
Alcaraz comes from a tennis-loving family. His grandfather built a tennis club on what was once a clay-pigeon shooting range. His father, Carlos Sr., was once ranked nationally but gave up professional aspirations due to financial constraints. Today, he serves as both a coach and mentor.
Carlos’s mother, Virginia, previously worked at Ikea and remains the emotional backbone of the family. Her Andalusian dishes, especially her paella and regional meat stews, are among the reasons Carlos says he loves being home.
Carlos also takes pride in being a role model to his younger siblings, 16-year-old Sergio and 14-year-old Jaime, both of whom play tennis.

Off court, Alcaraz’s personal life has also made headlines, particularly his friendship with British tennis star Emma Raducanu. She was recently seen cheering him on during his quarter-final win over Cam Norrie. The two will also team up for mixed doubles at the upcoming US Open, fuelling speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Though neither has confirmed anything beyond friendship, fans and media alike have noticed their growing closeness, especially after they arrived at Queen’s Club within minutes of each other earlier this summer.
