In May, the 16 casinos in Louisiana reported total adjusted gross revenues of $197.2 million, a 12.7% increase over $175 million in the same month the year before.
Golden Nugget Lake Charles made the most money ($30.3 million), up 3% from $29.5 million the previous year, according to data from the Louisiana State Police. In May, L’Auberge Lake Charles reported $27.2 million, a 5.6% year-over-year rise from $28.8 million the year before. The lone land-based casino in the state, Caesars New Orleans, reported $21.3 million, a 6.6% increase over the $20 million the year before.
Treasure Chest saw the biggest increase in income, rising 100.6% from $7.2 million to $14.5 million. Both Margaritaville and Sam’s Town had revenue drops of double digits. Margaritaville had a 20.7% decline from $17.3 million to $13.7 million, while Sam’s Town saw a 19.5% decline from $3.8 million to $3 million.
