Massachusetts is moving toward legalizing online casinos as lawmakers prepare to review two key bills on June 23. The proposals aim to expand gaming options and grant regulatory authority to the Gaming Commission.
Next week, Massachusetts lawmakers will start talking about internet casinos.
The Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure has set a hearing on House Bill 332 and Senate Bill 235 for June 23.
In February, legislation to allow internet casinos was presented by Sen. Paul Feeney and Rep. Daniel Cahill.

Details about an online casino in Massachusetts
Both measures would provide the Massachusetts Gaming Commission the authority to oversee and grant licenses to Bay State online casino operations.
According to the idea, up to two internet operators might collaborate with the three casinos in the state. Additionally, up to four untethered operators might be granted awards by regulators.
In order to fill a $3 billion budget deficit, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker proposed introducing online casinos; however, this idea was left out of the final budget. Instead, lawmakers proposed a per-bet fee.
