With $246.8 million in revenue, the online casino sector in New Jersey set yet another record in May 2025. FanDuel led the surge, helping Golden Nugget top $75 million in total winnings for the month.
The second time this year that operators set an all-time high, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) announced a record adjusted gross online casino revenue for May of $246.8 million.
March set the previous record of $243.9 million. Additionally, it contributed to a massive windfall for all three of the regulated gaming verticals, as the Garden State’s aggregate gaming income for May was $614.7 million, up 20.5% from the previous year.
For the ninth consecutive month, operator wins exceeded $200 million, and May’s online casino income total represented a 28.5% year-over-year rise. Revenue grew by at least 20% year over year for the fourth time in 2025, with May’s spike being the largest rise.

The first five months of 2025 saw $1.16 billion in revenue from online casinos, a 22.5% increase over the previous year. A month’s worth of operator wins is about equal to the $212.5 million rise. The $173 million influx for the calendar year is $31.3 million ahead of 2024, and the state received $37.1 million in tax revenue from that sector in May.
FanDuel-Golden Nugget reaches a record-breaking peak
At $54.4 million, FanDuel set a new state record for the third consecutive month, solidifying its position as the leading online casino platform in terms of revenue generation. FanDuel moved from lagging perpetual competitor DraftKings by $2.2 million to leading by $6.4 million, a 36.1% gain over the previous year.
Licensee Golden Nugget, which became the first in the state to achieve $75 million in cumulative monthly winnings at $75.6 million, mostly made money from FanDuel. Golden Nugget had its second-best month since the NJDGE started releasing operator data last year, with its internal platform reaching eight figures at $10.7 million. With $8.1 million, BetRivers contributed the majority of the remaining $10.5 million across the other three operator platforms.
Among the top seven income earners, DraftKings had the lowest 13.8% growth from May 2024, while coming in second with $48.1 million. Following the $51.3 million claimed in December and the $49.6 million for March, it was DraftKings’ third-highest monthly income total overall. The combined wins from the five platforms operating under the Resorts Digital license came to $55.1 million, representing an 11.9% increase.
