Optimove Report Finds Us Bettors Wager More Than Average

According to relationship marketing platform Optimove, US bettors spend more on gaming than the worldwide average, and this tendency is becoming worse.

The average deposit made by US players in May 2025 was US$604, according to data from the US Gaming Pulse Report. This is a 10% year-over-year growth, whereas the global average for the same time was 2%.

This amount was also more than the average deposit of US$538 for US players, as reported in the March Gaming Pulse Report.

In order to provide a standard for comparison in the sports betting and casino industries, the paper also examined data collected from 3.2 million US and 21 million international bettors.

In May 2025, US casino gamblers spent an average of US$8,259, more than six times the global average. Additionally, the number of casino bettors increased by 30% annually, while the global increase was 14%.

In the US, the sports betting trend was less striking. Although the number of sports bettors increased by only 14% year over year, the average monthly sports betting spend in the US was US$1001, while the global average was US$380.

The survey also revealed that customer engagement and retention are lower in the US, despite the fact that the country’s gambling consumer base is growing faster and spending more than the worldwide average.

During the month, US gamers were active on average 7.9 days, while players worldwide were active on 8.9 days. Additionally, customer retention in the US was just 65%, which was somewhat less than the global average of 71%.
