Net gaming revenue increased from US$2.3 million to US$4.8 million in May, representing a 113.5% year-over-year growth in Rhode Island’s igaming industry.
The latest data released by the Rhode Island Lottery show total bets increased from US$61.2 million to US$129.1 million in May, a 110.9% rise from the previous year, while total prizes increased from US$59 million to US$124.3 million, a 110.8% increase from the previous year.

With US$3.7 million in May, slots gambling made up the largest portion of the overall net gaming income, while online table games brought in US$1.1 million. Both showed increases of 128.9% and 73.7%, respectively, over the previous year.
After New Jersey, West Virginia, Michigan, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, Rhode Island was the seventh state in the US to authorize online gaming.
Since then, the industry has grown significantly, despite debates over youth access to internet gambling.
A law that would bar 18 to 21-year-olds from igaming and strengthen penalties for underage gambling was up for reconsideration in the state Legislature in April, even though 18-year-olds are permitted to bet in retail casinos.
