According to Tennessee Attorney General (AG) Jonathan Skrmetti, the state’s illicit internet sweepstakes casinos are being combated by his office.
According to the AG, several of these casinos in Tennessee have started to close.
An online sweepstakes casino: what is it?
According to Skrmetti, “Online sweepstakes casinos usually allow participants to play traditional casino-style games like slot machines, table games, or bingo with two types of virtual currencies, one of which can be redeemed for cash or other real-world prizes.”

“This dual-currency system acts as a front to conceal the possibility of real-money gambling on these platforms.”
According to the AG, formal cease-and-desist letters were given to almost forty illegal online sweepstakes casinos in Tennessee.
Since then, those platforms have disabled their illegal components, and they will soon completely shut down in the state.
According to Skrmetti, “the only thing you can be sure about with an online sweepstakes casino is that it’s going to take your money.” “Despite their best efforts, these sweepstakes casinos are not genuine. They steer clear of any oversight that may guarantee justice or integrity.
