The majority of Americans support gambling, according to an AGA survey, as casino attendance rises.

The majority of Americans seem to be fond of gambling.

More Americans participated in legal gambling in 2025 than in previous years, according to a recent American gambling Association consumer poll.

The annual study reveals “record casino visitation, sustained bipartisan support for sports betting, growing consumer preference for legal options, and increased recognition of the gaming industry’s responsible gaming efforts,” according to a press release.

In a statement, AGA President and CEO Bill Miller said, “These results underscore a sustainable foundation for the American gaming industry, reflecting strong consumer confidence in a state-regulated market as a safe and trusted form of entertainment.”

According to the report, 134 million people visited casinos last year, surpassing 50% for the first time. Nearly three-fourths of Americans think that having casinos in their state is beneficial because they create jobs, boost tourism, raise taxes, and support other local businesses.

With widespread support from both parties, nearly three-quarters (74%) of Americans favour legal, regulated sports betting in their state. Seventy-eight percent of Americans consider sports betting to be entertaining.

The majority of online gamblers favour legal options; 90% of gamers and 93% of sports bettors say legality is crucial when choosing a location to play. However, almost 40% of online gamers and sports bettors struggle to find legitimate sites.

Seventy percent of people in places where sports betting is legal think the sector is accountable for its marketing and promotion.

According to the release, “that credibility in advertisements is critical to steering players toward legal options.”
