BetUS has been ordered by the Michigan Gaming Control Board to stop its unlawful online gaming and sports betting activities that target Michigan residents. If BetUS doesn’t comply within 14 days without a state license, it could face legal action.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued a cease-and-desist order against BetUS, an offshore gambling operator, for illegally offering online gaming and sports betting to Michigan citizens without proper licensing.
About BetUS
BetUS, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Costa Rica, is one of the most established online gaming sites. The organization claims to serve more than a million customers worldwide, providing a diverse range of betting choices such as sports betting, esports, casino games, and horse racing. Despite its wide operations, BetUS is only licensed in the Comoros Union (Mwali), and it is not permitted to undertake gaming activities in Michigan.

BetUS provides a full online platform with live betting, smartphone access, and cryptocurrency transactions. It is recognized for allowing proposition bets on a wide range of events, including sports, pop culture, and politics.
Violation of Michigan Law
The MGCB’s investigations found that BetUS was collecting wagers from Michigan citizens on numerous gambling activities, including sports and casino-style games, without the required state licensing. This business violates Michigan’s Lawful Internet Gaming Act, Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.
“Unlicensed operators like BetUS undermine the integrity of Michigan’s regulated gaming market and expose consumers to potential risks,” stated Henry Williams, Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board. “The MGCB is committed to protecting Michigan residents by ensuring that all gambling activities are conducted legally and responsibly.”
Cease-and-Desist Order
BetUS must immediately suspend all operations with Michigan citizens in accordance with the cease-and-desist injunction. The business has 14 days to comply, or else the Michigan Department of Attorney General will take additional legal action.
