Jannik Sinner vs carlos Alcarez Wimbledon final 2025 men
Wimbledon final 2025 men: Alcaraz eyes third Wimbledon title as Sinner seeks revenge
Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz: Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are set for another blockbuster clash in the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday. Scheduled for 11 a.m. ET at Centre Court, the matchup features the top two players in the world, with No. 2 seed Alcaraz aiming for a third straight title and world No. 1 Sinner chasing his first Wimbledon crown.
This is the second straight Grand Slam final featuring these two stars. Just over a month ago, Alcaraz edged past Sinner in a marathon French Open final lasting over five hours. The Spaniard came back from the brink, saving three championship points and winning a fifth-set tiebreaker to lift the trophy. Now, Sinner has a shot at redemption on grass.
Alcaraz breezed through most of the draw after surviving a five-set scare in the first round against Fabio Fognini. In the semifinals, he defeated American Taylor Fritz in four sets, sealing the win with a tense tiebreak.
Sinner’s path was more complicated. He was two sets down against Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round before the Bulgarian retired injured. The Italian went on to beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semis. Despite earlier concerns about an elbow injury, Sinner looked sharp and pain-free against Djokovic.
The pair have faced off 12 times since 2021, with Alcaraz holding an 8-4 advantage. He’s won the last five encounters, including two at Roland Garros this year. Sinner has not beaten Alcaraz since 2023 and is yet to defeat him in a Grand Slam final. Their only previous Wimbledon meeting was in 2022, which Sinner won.
While both players are top-tier competitors, Alcaraz has proven himself on grass, winning Wimbledon in 2023 and 2024. This is Sinner’s first final at SW19, and he’s known to be more effective on hard courts. With Alcaraz’s experience and fitness, he enters the match as the slight favourite.
There’s more than just prestige at stake. This year’s men’s champion will earn £3 million (around $4.05 million), while the runner-up pockets £1.52 million ($2.05 million).
The odds indicate a razor-thin margin between the two finalists:
Moneyline: Alcaraz (-122) | Sinner (+102)
Total Games (O/U): 40.5 (Over -128, Under +108)
Set Betting: 4 sets is the most favoured outcome, priced at +150
Total Games Line (41.5): Multiple books align on Over/Under close to even
These odds reflect expectations for a close match, possibly going to four or five sets. Alcaraz’s past success gives him the edge in the markets, but Sinner’s current form offers strong betting value.
Though Alcaraz has dominated recent head-to-heads and has the grass pedigree, Sinner’s confident run and efficient win over Djokovic make him a strong contender. Given the tight odds, backing Sinner to win at +102 offers value. Expect long rallies, multiple tiebreaks and a likely four- or five-set thriller.
The bet: Jannik Sinner to win (+102)
Lean: Over 40.5 Games (-128)
This final has all the makings of an instant classic, and possibly the beginning of a new golden era in men’s tennis.
