Wyoming Legislator Will Reintroduce an Online Casino Bill in 2025

Wyoming’s House Bill 162 proposes legal internet casinos that offer slots and table games throughout the state. Setting the lowest iCasino tax rate in the country, as well as committing tax resources to problem gambling, demonstrate its commitment to public health.

Wyoming might consider allowing online gambling with the introduction of House Bill 162. The law allows operators to provide online slots and table games throughout the state. The Wyoming Gaming Commission would oversee these internet casinos.

HB 162 establishes a legislative framework for internet gaming in Wyoming. The measure prioritizes problem gambling prevention by allocating the first $300,000 of yearly tax revenue to county health initiatives addressing gaming-related concerns.

Wyoming isn’t the only state looking at internet gambling laws this year. In 2025, five additional states, including Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, Massachusetts, and, most recently, New York, have submitted laws regulating internet casinos.

However, this legislation has already encountered obstacles. Virginia’s internet casino measure has been extended to 2026. A Senate committee decided it was best to conduct additional research. Senator Maime Locke moved the motion to defer the measure to next year.

That analysis suggested a 15% internet casino tax, which is significantly lower than the Wyoming bill’s percentage. If the Wyoming law passes, the state will have the lowest online casino tax rate in the United States.
